Everything Comes Full Circle for CreateAthon Mentor

CreateAthon Mentor, Liz Scoggins, has deep connections with CreateAthon @ VCU. It's truly amazing to see things being cranked out in the hours passed. Students are stressing, mind-mapping, and doodling ideas onto blackboards and giant post-it pads all to contribute to an ideal CreateAthon experience. But when the the experience can be tied together by the involvement of a single mentor for one group, it becomes a phenomenal sentiment. Liz Scoggins is the founder and creative director at Shine Marketing and an adjunct professor teaching Style and Invention for VCU creative advertising. She has been graciously assisting the Children's Home Society (CHS) team today, however, after so long she has not met the clients. What brings her story full circle is how CreateAthon has the capability to bring people together. Scoggins was adopted through CHS when she was six months old. Children's Home Society, one of this year's amazing clients, helped her find her birth mother. Last year was her first year volunteering for the CreateAthon event as a mentor and as a professor which brought everything full circle for her because she was also a VCU undergrad and attended The Brandcenter formerly known as The Adcenter.   CreateAthon is grateful for Liz Scoggins participation and is eagerly waiting to reveal their work to Children's Home Society in the morning.
